[Also in Groups XXVII and XXIX] Liquid fuel controlling means for a gas turbine engine comprises a fuel controlling device responsive to blower air pressure and valve means movable between two positions for enabling either the full delivery pressure of the blower or a predetermined part thereof to act on the fuel controlling device. As shown, burners 2 are supplied by a swashplate pump b adjusted by a servo-piston h responsive to pressure in a chamber above the piston, this pressure being regulated by a hinged leak-off valve o actuated by a diaphragm w subject to the pressure drop across a throttle z in the supply conduit to the burners. A movable member 3 of the throttle is adjusted by a bellows 17 which, according to the position of a valve member 14, is exposed either to full blower air pressure communicated thereto through a passage 13 from a conduit 10 through which the blower air is passed, or to a predetermined part only of such pressure communicated through a passage 19 from a Venturi 9. The valve member 14 is actuated by pistons 6, 7 subject, through passages 8, 11, 12, to the pressures before, after, and at the throat of, the Venturi, so that the valve member 14 is actuated automatically at a predetermined blower air pressure. Modifications are described in which the connections to the pistons 6, 7 are varied, and in another arrangement only one piston is employed. In a further modification, the valve member 14 is actuated by a diaphragm subject to the pressure rise across the blower. Specification 577,016, [Group XXIX], is referred to.
