Abstract
677,006. Gas turbine plant. LUCAS, Ltd., J. July 7, 1950 [July 26, 1949], No. 19593/49. Class 110(iii) [Also in Group XXIX] A hydraulic governing system for an internal combustion prime mover, e.g. a gas turbine, comprises a governor pump q driven by the prime mover, a spring-loaded diaphragm i subjected on opposite sides to the pressures before and after a pair of throttles n, r in series, and a hinged leakoff valve f actuated by the diaphragm i and controlling a servo-piston a which adjusts a swashplate g of a fuel injection pump e supplying burners h. The throttle n is adjusted by hand and the throttle r by a spring-loaded diaphragm t subjected to the pressures before and after the throttle r. A restriction y controls the rate of movement of the throttle r consequent upon adjustment of the throttle n. It is stated that the governor pressure may be derived from the pump e instead of from the separate pump q, and also that the servo-piston may control a fuel throttle valve instead of the pump. Furtther, the diaphragms i, t may be replaced by pistons. Specification 577,016, [Group XXIX], is referred to.
