Abstract

664,935. Gas turbine plant. LUCAS, Ltd., J. April 3, 1950 [April 12, 1949], No. 9855/49. Class 110(iii) [Also in Groups XXIX, XXXVII and XXXVIII] The current through a magnet o controlling a liquid fuel regulator on a jet propulsion engine, gas turbine or other prime mover, is varied in accordance with variations of atmospheric or other fluid pressure by arranging in series with the magnet o an electromagnetic self-interrupter comprising a magnet v and armature u biassed by a spring t acting in opposition to a bellows w responsive to the pressure. In the form shown the magnet o controls a valve g which, by allowing fluid from a port e to be vented through the vent f, alters the position of a piston b which varies the obliquity of a swash plate j which cooperates with pump plungers k on a rotaryfuel pump m. The rate of delivery of thefuel is thus varied.
