603,640. Gas turbines. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. July 18, 1945, No. 18445. Convention date, Aug. 24, 1944. [Class 110 (iii)] In a gas-turbine plant in which the fuel gas is provided by a gas-producer 7, the pressuredrop in the gas-producer is balanced in the combustion air line by the pressure-drop in an exhaust gas heat-exchanger 2. The supply of fuel to the combustion chamber is regulated by a valve 9 controlled by a speed governor 10 and the valve is arranged to be partly closed under normal working conditions. In a twostage plant with reheating, the fuel for the re-heating combustion chamber is supplied by a second gas-producer receiving air from between the compressor stages, or, working fluid tapped from a turbine stage. The lowpressure turbine and compressor set is separately governed and the governor controls the supply of combustion air to the second gas-producer In addition to the useful employment of the pressure-drop in the combustion air line, the pressure of the air supply to the gas producer may be boosted by an additional stage to the air-compressor.
