Abstract
645,588. Gas turbine plant. BAUMANN, K., and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Oct. 13, 1948, No. 26686. [Class 110(iii)] In a gas turbine plant, a part of the gases generated in a combustion chamber 5 is expanded in a useful power turbine 7 and is then recompressed in a compressor 8 and returned to the chamber 5 as a diluent after combustion. The other part of the gases goes to a second useful power turbine 12 and second and third turbine stages 13, 14 which drive second and first stages 3, 1 of an air-compressor which provides the combustion air for the chamber 5. The gases may be reheated in a combustion chamber 23 or in a heat-exchanger in the chamber 5. The turbines 7, 12 may be replaced by a single useful power turbine, the exhaust from which is divided. The recirculated part of the gases passes through an exhaust heat-exchanger 22, a gas cleaner 24 and a cooler 9. Specification 645,671 is referred to.
