Abstract
791,096. Centrifugal compressors; gas turbine plant. PEREGRINE, E. P. Jan. 17, 1956, No. 1595/56. Drawings to Specification. Classes 110 (1) and 110 (3). [Also in Groups XXVII and XXVIII] A multi-stage centrifugal air compressor wherein the air compressed at each stage is cooled by inter-stage heat exchangers, is driven by a multi-stage hot air turbine in which the air is reheated between the stages by said heat exchangers. The turbine and compressor may both be fed with air from the main manifold of a jet-propulsion engine, and the compressed air supplied by the compressor may be used for powering auxiliaries.
