Abstract
489,527. Settee-beds. DUCROT, A. July 1, 1937, No. 18335. Convention date, March 4. [Class 52 (ii)] A convertible settee-bed comprises a seat portion b pivoted to side frames a at its rear edge and combined with a bed-frame formed in three hinged sections c<1>, c<2>, c<3>, the rear section c<1> being rigidly secured to the rear edge of the seat portion b. The seat b is pivoted in journals 1 carried by arms 2 and pivoted to the frames a at 3, guide studs 4 provided on the arms 2 being arranged to move in guide slots 5. The bed-frame sections, c<1>, c<2>, c<3> are hinged together at 6, 7 and carry a flexible mattress support such as crossed steel bands tensioned by springs. An extension member 11 provided on section c<1> carries a castor 12 which rests on the ground when the seat b is lowered to cover the folded bed-frame sections. When the seat is raised the sections c<1>, c<2>, c<3> of the bed-frame are brought into alignment by links 11, 16, 17, 18, 20 with the assistance of springs 21 the section c<2> being supported by a member 14 carrying a castor 15 and the section c<3> being supported at its outer end by a panel d.
