357,258. Spring upholstery. KNOLL & CO. GES., W., Feuerbach, Wurtemberg, Germany. March 24, 1930, No. 9297. Convention date, March 22, 1929. [Class 52 (iv).] A spring surface consisting of laths or webbing a<1> with tension springs b connected thereto is secured to the supporting frame by blade springs a the free length of which is shortened when under load. The shortening may be accomplished by contact with the frame or with auxiliary blade springs e mounted beneath the main blade. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes arrangements wherein webbing bands or laths are connected to the frame by tension springs, which may be vertically arranged with the webbing passing over a pulley; wherein a series of short laths &c. are linked by tension springs, or wherein corrugated steel strips are secured directly across the frame, or webbing &c. bands are supported at their ends on rubber blocks. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
