489,207. Electric furnaces. SOC. ANON. DES MANUFACTURES DES GLACES ET PRODUITS CHIMIQUES DE ST.-GOBAIN, CHAUNY, ET CIREY. Aug. 11, 1937, No. 22090. Convention date, Aug. 14, 1936. [Class 39 (iii)] A tank furnace wherein the glass flows longitudinally from one end B to the other is provided with transverse electrodes C arranged below the surface of the glass and extending across substantially the whole width of the glass flow. The electrodes may be of circular or rectangular cross-section. The furnace walls may have internal bosses G around the electrodes. Specification 262,535, [Class 39 (iii)], is referred to.
