Abstract

487,768. Thermionic valve circuits. BULL, C. S. Sept. 18, 1936, No. 25417. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] A screen grid valve as set out in Specification 487,674 having in front of the usual positivelybiassed screen grid 14 an auxiliary grid 15 at cathode or negative potential the two grids being aligned in a direction normal to the flow of electrons from the cathode and control grid 13 to the anode 12 so that no screen grid current is obtained, is used in amplifier circuits such as output circuits or in a high frequency circuit (as shown). The main screen grid 14 is biassed through the resistance 17 and is connected to a de-coupling condenser 18 ; the cathode and auxiliary grid 15 axe earthed. A screen 5 is provided for. the output coupling. A suppressor grid or earthed plates as described in Specification 423,932 may be used. In mixed valves each screen grid may have an associated auxiliary grid as described. Specification 435,539 also is referred to.
