487,528. Invalids' beds. WHITFIELDS BEDSTEADS, Ltd., and ADAMS, E. March 17,1937, No. 7870. [Class 52 (ii)] In an invalid bed provided with adjustable leg- and foot-rests, the foot-rest 6 has side rails which extend downwardly and are pivoted below the side rails 10 of the bedframe, e.g. to brackets 9, and the leg-rest comprises two frames 1, 2, hinged together, the frame 2 being hinged to the foot-rest at 7, and the member 1 hinged to the bedframe at 3. A U-shaped stretcher 5 is pivoted to the frames 1 and 2 at the pivotal junction to prevent distortion, and a cross-bar 11 is provided where the foot-rest is pivoted to the frame 2, this bar 11 being movable by means of screw- and - nut mechanism to adjust simultaneously the slope of the leg-rest members and the foot-rest. An adjustable back-rest 30 is also provided.
