Abstract

Mattresses. - Each side bar 1 of a bedstead has movably mounted near it, a tube 26, and the transverse bands constituting the bedbottom or mattress are mounted alternately as shown in Figs. 4 and 5. When either of the tubes 26 is disengaged from its corresponding bar 1, by removing the pin 27, and then lowered, alternate bands 2 are lowered clear of the patient's body, the others remaining in position. The bands 2 are preferably endless bands, with adjustable lacing 28. Specification 291,538, [Class 52 (ii), Furniture for sitting &c. upon], is referred to.
