Abstract

427,490. Suspended seats and beds. AKHOONA, D. J., Dharampur, Surat, Bombay, India. Oct. 25, 1933, No. 29581. [Class 52 (ii)] A chair, bed, or the like, particularly for use on ships or rail vehicles, is suspended from a fixed frame which has arms 12 adjacent and parallel to the sides of the chair by means of chains 15, or equivalent members, having swivelling links 14, hung from the arms 12 and connected to transverse members 11 secured to and extending beyond the sides of the chair. The chains 14 may be replaced by rods provided with ball bearings at top and bottom. The back of the chair may be adjustable or may be arranged to swing backwards to form a sleeping cot.
