Abstract
247,776. Knights, T. H. April 4, 1925. Bedsteads convertible into seats comprise a canvas seating mounted on a chair frame to assume four positions forming an ordinary chair, a lounge chair with inclined seat and back, a bed, with the canvas horizontal, and a rest chair on the addition of a band of canvas across the arm rests to serve as a back rest. Canvas d or like fabric is attached to the cross bar e at the back, being held in position by cords k attached thereto and to the cross bar m, and then back under the seat where it is attached to a cross bar g. Ropes h connected at each side to the bar g pass over a roller c<1>, over front wheels 2 and then over wheels b<3> on a bar b hinged at the lower end to a downward extension c of the back rest hinged at c<1> to the frame, and is finally connected to pins i on the frame. On lowering the back, the canvas is automatically adjusted in position; when horizontal, the back is supported on legs hinged thereto. Rests, back.-A canvas band placed across the arm rests on hooks o serves as a back-rest when the back and seat are horizontal, the back a then serving as a leg-rest.
