Bedsteads convertible into seats; adjustments. -A chair or settee convertible into a bedstead, which may also be made as a toy, comprises a seat 3 pivoted at 6 to the frame 1 and adapted to be swung outwards to form the foot section of the bed, a back 8<a> pivoted at 10, links 13 adapted to move the back into a horizontal position when the seat is swung outwards, and legs 8. 28 for supporting the outer ends of the head and foot sections. The legs 28 are preferably actuated by links 15 so as to unfold automatically as the back is lowered. When the device is in use as a settee, angular adjustment of the back is provided for bv means of notches 17<x> and a bar 18 held in position by clips 19. The legs 8<x> of the foot section may be mounted on a hinged bar B so that they may be turned over and passed between the slats of the inner section when the device is in use as a chair.
