Abstract
209,263. Raymont, R. M. Dec. 4, 1922. Bedsteads convertible into seats; sliding seats; leg-rests.-A chair convertible into a bedstead comprises in combination a sliding seat member 4, a leg-rest 7 capable of sliding beneath the seat and a back 13, pivoted to the seat, and which can be supported, as at 15, by the sides 1 and can be lowered into a substantially horizontal position to form a bedstead. A projection 12 on the leg rest 7 may engage a recess in the seat 4 so that the leg rest may share the sliding motion of the seat, which motion is, however, prevented when the chair is converted into a bedstead, by projections 16 on the back engaging the transverse bar 5. The extended leg-rest may be supported either by short fixed legs 8 or by a hinged member 9.
