Abstract
501,868. Beds; mattresses ; ; seats. KOET, K. R. March 19, 1938, No. 8512. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 20, 1938.] (Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iv)] In a bed, mattress, or seat, particularly for the use of invalids, the surface directly supporting the body of the user is constituted by a series of strips 15, 16 of rubber or like elastic material, crossing each other and preferably interwoven, and the opposite frame members 14 to which the strips 16 are attached lie at a level below the frame members 13 to which the strips 15 are fastened. The two ends of the supporting surface arc thus drawn downwards. The structure shown may serve' as a substitute. for a portion of a multipart mattress. The strips are preferably detachably connected to the frame members by wrapping them round the latter. and engaging studs 20, Fig. 2, on the end of the strip into holes 19 in the strip.
