Bedlifts; bedsteads fitted with sanitary conveniences.- A bedlift comprises an auxiliary mattress 12, four brackets 23 clamped to the bedposts, and winch bars 22 rotatably carried by the upright arms of the brackets and supporting the mattress 12 by flexible members 26. The bars 22 are provided' with squared ends 30 for engagement with the handle 31, and a locking pin 25 may be provided, engaging holes in the bar 22 and the bracket 23. Side curtains C may be secured to the. mattress 12, and the latter may be provided with a hole 17 to facilitate use of a bed pan.
