Abstract
207,715. Reid, D. W. Dec. 28, 1922. Invalids and surgical bedsteads; adjustments; bed-lifts; bed-rests.-Surgical bedsteads comprise a convex wire mattress A pivotally supported centrally by rounded studs 0 carried thereby and resting in corresponding sockets B carried by the side bars of a tubular metal frame. The mattress is adjusted by ratchet bars C disposed in pairs at the head and foot and connected by bars C<1>. The ratchet bars pass through brackets D and are maintained' in engagement therewith by springs E, set screws D<1> being provided for locking them in adjusted position. The foot rail F is removably fitted in sockets in the end of the bedstead frame. An adjustable knee rest G slides on bars H and can be laid flat at the foot when not required. The back rest I slides on rods J pivoted on the cross bar K and is held back by hooks L when out of use. A davit M carries a chain N. Specifications 7744/08 and 11669/10 are. referred to.
