Abstract
487,505. Fluid-fuel burners. ASIATIC PETROLEUM CO., Ltd., and RICHARDSON, A. W. Dec. 30, 1936, No. 35750. [Classes 75 (i) and 126] In a burner comprising perforated shells 1, 2 resting on a grooved base filled with asbestos and fed with liquid fuel, air is supplied to the flame issuing from the perforated shells by a central tube 3 fitted at the top with a spreader plate 6 which rests on a sloping cover 4 connecting the tube 3 and shell 1. A perforated plate 7 suspended from the plate 6 maintains the plate 6 in position. The cover 4 and a cover 9 connecting the shell 2 and an outer casing 8 may be formed with slots or perforations. Heat radiating wire coils 13, 14 and a wire gauze mantle 12 may be arranged above the burner. Air-regulating means such as a sliding shutter or fixed and rotatable perforated plates may be fitted at the bottom of the central tube 3 and the spaces between the shells 1, 2 and the tube 3 and casing 8.
