Abstract

544,946. Radiator stoves; liquid fuel burners. ROWLANDSON, E. S. Oct. 31, 1940, No. 15920. [Classes 75 (i) and 126] Liquid fuel such as waste lubricating oil is fed by a pipe 1 at a measured rate to a burner plate 12 wholly closing the base of a perforated casing 13 through which primary air reaches the flame. The casing 13 may have serrated lower edge. The casing 13 and plate 12 are arranged within a perforated cylinder 7 through which secondary air is supplied to the flame. The cylinder 7 is surrounded by an outer casing 5 or an annular chamber containing water. The cylinder 7 and casing 5 are provided with hinged doors 14, 15 to allow a volatile spirit to be supplied when starting the burner. The fuel may be delivered to one or more plates 9, 10 of smaller diameter arranged above the plate 12 and the plates 9, 10, 12 may be dished or corrugated to increase their surface area. The base of the cylinder 7 is provided with air inlets 11. A number of burner plates 12 and casings 13 may be arranged side by side or one above another in a common casing.
