486,292. Marking pipes. GLYNN BROS., Ltd., and VENNELL, R. H. Dec. 21, 1937, No. 35339. [Class 83 (iv)] Die-rolling.-A marking-device for tube, rod, &c., particularly for marking lead pipe after it has left the extrusion press comprises a pair of pipe-guiding wheels 8 one or both having marks thereon, each wheel supported by a U-shaped bracket 6 pivotable about trunnions 5 the brackets being coupled by spindles 12a with springs 13 whereby screwing of the nut 14 adjusts them towards or from each other to give the appropriate marking pressure, and the springs adjust the wheels to take up any irregularity of pipe diameter. The marking-means may comprise an engraved ring 10 fixed between the split halves 11 of one wheel and secured therein by studs 12.
