Abstract
485,685. Uniting metal to ceramic material. LORENZ AKT.-GES., C. Jan. 12, 1937, No. 975. Convention date, Jan. 16, 1936. [Class 36] A metallic electrode P forming part of the envelope of an electric discharge tube is shrunk on to a ceramic wall portion W3 of the envelope so that the edge portions of the metallic electrode rest on the ceramic wall, the joints being sealed over with glass or enamel S. In the form shown the ring Q is shrunk in the same way over the ceramic parts W1, W2, and forms one plate of a condenser connection to the grid F. The parts W1, W2, W3 are ground, so as to fit the rings P, Q intimately.
