Abstract
484,340. Bed - settees. ASHMELE, E. Feb. 9, 1937, No. 3819. [Class 52 (ii)] In a bed-settee of the kind in which a movable seat member 11 is carried by parallel links 21, 17 on which it is swung forward, the frame of the settee is made with a well, and the links 21, 17 are pivoted to a stationary base member 1 which constitutes the head part of the bed surface and which is received in the well and detachably secured therein to the settee frame, e.g. by means of brackets 7 with which engage pins 6 on the front and rear supports of the member 1. The surfaces of the members 1 and 11 are formed of coil springs 8 and wires 9. A drop-down extension 14 may be fitted to the front -board 10 of the movable member 11. Counterbalancing springs 20 are secured to the lower ends of extensions of the links 17. The back of the settee is detachable, and the arms 5 are hollow and provided with doors.
