Abstract
441,031. Adjustable chairs. LANE, J. C., 152, West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Sept. 27, 1934, No. 27753. [Class 52 (ii)] An adjustable chair comprises a frame 4, Fig. 1, and a seat and back formed as a unit with each side member 6, 8 in one piece, the seat being pivoted at the front at 5 and supported at the back by a bar 1( resting in one of e number of notches 9 in the arm-rest members of the frame. In an alternative form of support, rack members 12, Fig. 3, hinged or pivoted to the back 8 engage a fixed bar 10. The front pivotal axis may be made adjustable by forming notches in either the movable or the fixed frame and providing a rod or pins on the other frame to engage therewith. In this case the back may rest against a fixed bar, or pins 14, Fig. 7, or the back may engage in slots 15 on the rear legs 11. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 14128/07, [Class 52], and 217,733, [Class 52 (ii)].
