Abstract

484,164. Lathes. FINDLAY & SONS, Ltd., W., FINDLAY, D. M., and FINDLAY. R. P. Oct. 29, 1936, No. 29451. [Class 83 (iii)] In combination with a screw-cutting centre lathe, a screw-cutting attachment is provided comprising a carrier b, Figs. 1 and 3, which rigidly supports a die-stock or die-holder, capable of being applied directly to the existing transverse saddle f of the slide rest g of the lathe and of being moved thereon to bring the axis of the die-stock &c., into coincidence with the line between the lathe centres between which the work is supported. An elongated centre n is used at the tailstock end of the work so that this may be threaded from its end the carriage h being moved by the lead screw r. Specification 226,622, [Class 83 (iii)], is referred to.
