607,706. Turning. PETERMANN, W. Oct. 18, 1945, No. 27363. Convention date, March 18, 1943. [Class 83 (iii)] An automatic lathe having the tools arranged fanwise around the work axis is characterised in that a main support carrying the tools has one or more surfaces adapted for removable additional tools. The work 5 is carried in a headstock 1 integral with which is a bracket 2 carrying the tool slides 3, 4, arranged fanwise around the work. The sides of the part 2 are adapted to carry additional removable brackets 12, 13 which support further tool slides 15, 16 operating in the same plane as the other tool slides. The removable brackets are bored at 18, 19 to carry the pivot pins for levers 20, 21, operating the slides.
