Abstract
483,859. Feeding granular &c. materials. STRICKLAND, L. R. Dec. 7, 1936, No. 33516. [Class 78 (i)] Apparatus for dressing grain and seeds with powder comprises means for feeding the grain and powder at prescribed rates to a mixing-machine, the powder being distributed evenly over the grain. The grain is fed from a hopper 5 by a pocket wheel 6 rotated by ratchet-mechanism operated from a shaft 11. The latter also operates a rod 17 by means of a cam 16, the rod effecting the oscillation of a shaft 23 with a quick return. The shaft is fitted with stirring arms 25 and with a vane 24 which ejects powder in a finely divided condition through an adjustable orifice on to the grain.
