Abstract

482,720. Valve generating circuits. SCHULMEISTER, L. Oct. 2, 1936, Nos. 26788 and 26789. Convention dates, Oct. 2, 1935 and Sept. 29, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] [Also in Group VI] An electro-medical apparatus comprises a relaxation oscillator with a hot-cathode gas discharge tube for charging or discharging the condenser, and with means for supplying the resulting current impulses to treatment electrodes. As shown in Fig. 1, the condenser 1 is charged through a variable frequency-regulating resistance 3 and is discharged through a diode tube 2, the discharge impulses being conveyed to treatment electrodes 6, 7 through an ironless transformer 4, 5 and an adjustable resistance 8, the arm of which may be rotated. The positions of the resistance 3 and the tube 2 may be reversed, and the impulses taken off through condensers, Fig. 2 (not shown). The discharge tube may have one or more grids, and in the circuit shown in Fig. 4, one grid 24 is biassed by connection to a resistance 25 in the charging circuit, the other grid being given a fixed bias.
