Abstract
481,538. Froth -flotation apparatus. PHONIX SCHWEFELSAUREU. CHEMISCHE PRODUKTEN-FABRIK AKT.-GES. Sept. 14, 1936, No. 25081. Convention date, Sept. 13, 1935. [Class 82 (ii)] Slime is passed from an inlet chamber 1 into a mixing chamber 4 having beneath it a wind chest 3 and above it a receiving chamber 5 which opens into a lift pipe 6 for the froth and has also a lateral outlet 10 into a settling chamber 8. The froth passes through a deaerating trap 7 into the settling chamber below the level of the liquid therein and is led off through an outlet 9. The material in the settling chamber passes through a slot 2a into the mixing chamber of the next cell and a slot 13 in the common wall compensates the liquid levels of the cells. The wind chest has a stuffing box at each end through which the nozzle plate 3a can slide for cleaning or removal.
