833,605. Treating sewage ; gravity-separation apparatus. TERRETT, J. F., and STRUTT, C. R. Oct. 22, 1958 [Nov. 12, 1957], No. 35263/57. Classes 46 and 111. A separation tank of rectangular form for separating fat, oils and solids from liquid effluents has an inlet duct 9 in the upper part of one side, an outlet duct 10 in the opposite side, a reflector plate 4 facing the inlet and extending towards the bottom of the tank, a deflector plate 5 facing the outlet but extending further towards the bottom of the tank, a secondary draw-off pipe 11 whose inlet is below the level of the inlet and outlet, and an outlet 12 in the base of the tank for the withdrawal of solids. In Fig. 1 a number of separation tank units are shown conjoined.
