Abstract

481,231. Magazine spanners; screwdrivers. FORD. R,. G. March 6, 1937, No. 6678. [Class 61 (iii)] A magazine spanner 11 is provided at its front end with a, nut retaining stop 14 carried by a leaf spring 12 and is actuated by a tommy bar 17 adapted to engage transverse holes 16 in the rear end of the spanner, the tommy bar being of non-circular section adapted to engage a correspondingly shaped axial hole 19 in the spanner end so that the tommy bar can be entered axially into the spanner as shown for starting the screwing of a nut on a bolt and at the same time applying axial pressure to force the nut past the retaining stop 14. Two diametrical sides of the hexagonal tube H may be prolonged providing screwdriver tips for removing hub cap screws.
