Abstract
480,945. Electrodeposition of chromium. WILLIAMS, W. P. (Rojas Chemical Works, Inc.) June 2, 1936, No. 15457. [Class 41] A chromic acid plating bath contains a soluble aluminium compound in amount 5- 15 per cent, calculated as hydroxide, of the weight of chromium trioxide, and is substantially free from foreign inorganic acid radicles. Sulphuric acid present as impurity should be below 0À5 per cent. The bath may contain 100-400 gms. per litre of chromium trioxide. Chromium chromate, Cr2(CrO4)3' may be present in proportions corresponding to a content of trivalent chromium of 5-30 gms. per litre. Specifications 259,984, 266,045, and 296,988, [all in Class 41], are referred to.
