[Class 97 (i)] A hinge joint for spectacle sides comprises a member 1 secured to the front c and carrying a horizontal pivot pin 4 on which is mounted an intermediate member 2 pro. vided with a vertical pivot 5 on which is mounted an eye 3 secured to the side b. The side can be opened and closed by turning it about the pivot 5, and the front can be turned about the pivot 4 to remove the lenses from the line of vision without detaching the spectacles from the face.
