Abstract

717,290. Spectacles. HADLEY CO., Ltd. Aug. 4, 1953 [Aug. 1, 1952], No. 19500/52. Class 97(1) A front frame carrying lenses or filters is mounted to swing out of the line of sight on hinges each consisting of plates urged together with a spring and indented in complementary fashion so that the indentations engage when the front frame is in a forwardly projecting position. As shown, the front frame is integral with plates 10 and the plates 11 are integral with a brow bar which carries nose-pads and temples and, if desired, a fixed lens carrying frame. The plate 11 has a single corrugation 16 which engages either of the corrugations 17, 18 in the member 10 under pressure of a spring washer 15. A bolt 12 secures the parts and acts as hinge pin.
