[Class 40 (v)] A line is matched to high-frequency apparatus responsive to a range of frequencies, by means of a section of line of selected length and impedance. A coaxial feeder 1, 2, of characteristic impedance Z<1>o is connected to a load. such as an aerial at A, through the additional section of line BA whose electrical length # and characteristic impedance Zo are so chosen that its input impedance at B simulates Z<1>o to a high degree of approximation over the range of frequencies handled by the aerial. The matching is made correct at two spaced frequencies within the band by proportioning the section BA according to equations derived in the Specification. Specifications 282,905, [Class 40 (v)], and 393,490 are referred to.
