[Class 27] In a coin-freed vending-machine in which a number of compartments or drawers are all released by the insertion of a coin, the opening of a selected drawer or compartment causing all the others to be locked, each drawer or compartment is associated with a control member 2, pivoted at 1 and having a pin 3 engaging a slot 4 in the drawer so that when the drawer is pulled out the corresponding member 2 is rotated clockwise. Each member 2 has an open-ended slot 6 operating in conjunction with a pin 8 on a rail 7 common to all the drawers and freed for movement by the insertion of a coin. When a selected drawer 5 is pulled out, in its first movement a face 2a on the member 2 is moved up against the corresponding pin 8 of the rail 7 which is moved to the right by the face 2a and then a curved surface 2b acts on the pin 8. During the first movement of the drawer, a pin 9 on the member 2 passes between a pair of a series of plates 10 slidable in pins 1, 12. The plates can move just sufficiently to allow one pin 9 to pass so that all the other drawers are locked against movement. When the pin 9 has passed through and released the plates 10, the rail 7 has been moved so far that the remaining pins 8 thereon have moved along the slots 6 other control members 2 and locked the corresponding drawers. The members 2 have curved toothed portions 13a co-operating with spring-controlled pawls 14 to ensure a full stroke of the selected drawer at each actuation.
