Abstract

1,127,277. Coin-operated vending machines. COOMBE PRODUCTS (FURNITURE) Ltd. 17 March, 1967, No. 12702/67. Heading G4V. A coin-operated mechanism freed by two or more coins actuating a pawl 28 cooperating with a rack 35 on the underside of an article delivery drawer, is characterized in that the coins are supported in their operative position by members 37, 38, the member 38 being pivoted by coin 26 in the absence of coin 36, whereby the coin 26 drops through the mechanism without actuating the same. The member 38 is pivotally mounted at 39 and engages a fixed stop 41. In a modification, three coins are required to free the mechanism, the first two coins being supported one on the other between the members 37, 38. A plurality of vending machines are arranged side-by-side in an outer casing closed by a front plate. Each vending machine includes windows 21, 51 for viewing the articles 22 for sale and the contents of the coin box. A spring member 53 closes the coin shoot 23 to retain surplus coins whilst the drawer 25 is open. An adjustable side plate and follower 42 are provided.
