Abstract

1,205,973. Dispensing articles. D. E. RAINEY. 27 Sept., 1967 [18 Jan., 1967], No. 44022/67. Heading A4T. A food package display and vending apparatus comprises an upper cabinet A with a multiplicity of vertical shoots containing packets 6 and open at the top 5 for loading, when the cabinet is hinged forward a pivot 18, into a lower cabinet and open at the bottom where the packages are guided on to a forwardly inclined track C over a package price printing roller and package counter F and up to a spring hinged stop G which, after being depressed to release a package, tilts the package upwards for dispensing. Each shoot is provided with side springs 7 retarding the fall of packages, a hinged package support member 9 and a hinged L-shaped member 11 for lowering the package in cooperation with guide rails 12, 15 on to the display and dispensing track. The apparatus may be formed as a wire frame-work, each shoot emptying into a single track superimposed on further tracks. The lower cabinet may act as a storage compartment and house a refrigerator, in which case the front of the shoots is closed by an insulated door.
