480,122. Damping fabrics. WILLIAMS, D. R. H., and PEACE, J. W. Sept. 19, 1936, No. 25497. [Class 140] In means for damping fabrics wherein the fabric F is passed between an upper, weighted roller h and a lower, fabric-covered roller a dipping into liquid in a trough b and co-operating with a smoothing-roller c, the ends of the shaft of the roller e are guided for vertical movement in guide ways e<1> formed in or carried by depending arms e pivoted to brackets f and adjustable independently by screw means g, the roller c being disposed above the centre line of the roller a and exerting pressure thereon by its weight. The ends of the shaft of the roller c may be mounted in ball bearings in blocks d. The roller c is preferably made of metal. Specification 409,869, [Group IV], is referred to.
