Abstract
862,739. Drying-sections of paper-making machines. SULZER FRERES S.A. Sept. 14, 1959 [July 17, 1959], No. 31310/59. Class 96. The drying-section of a paper-making machine comprises steam-heated drying rolls 1 and a felt-conveying roller 2 covered by a completely closable, preferably heat-insulated hood 3 having at least one upper part, e.g. two laterally-displaceable parts 12 and 13, and at least one lower part, e.g. a vertically-displaceable part 4, running in guides such as rails 9a, 9b receiving rollers 10 and 11 on the upper edges of the parts 12 and 13 and rails 8a, 8b receiving their lower edges. The upper part or parts may be moved by hand and the lower part 4 may be moved by a chain guided by rollers 6 and connected to the piston of a compressed air cylinder 7. The hood may also comprise two laterally-displaceable parts 15 and 16 running in rails 18a, 18b and 17a, 17b.
