[Class 51 (ii)] In a muffle furnace of the kind in which a side combustion chamber 13 is separated from the goods chamber by a tile wall 12 resting at its upper edge against abutment bricks 3, a tight joint is made by inverted channel tiles 7, which embrace an upstanding ledge 5 and the upper edge of the wall, and dip at one side into loose sealing material in the groove 4.
