Abstract

478,178. Feeding sheets. BACKHOUSE, H. T. June 26, 1937, No. 17858. [Class 100 (i)] In connection with a sheet-feeding device, which is especially applicable for overlapping stream feeds, of the kind having front lays 3 operating above the feed board 2, oscillating sheet-arresting devices 6 operating from below the level of the feed board are provided to prevent a succeeding sheet from moving past the normal position of the lays 3 when these are moved to allow the registered sheet to be forwarded. The arresting devices 6 are normally arranged below and slightly in front of the lays 3, and as the lays move upwards the devices 6 are also raised above the level of the board 2 before the registered sheet has completely left the feed board, and prevent the passage of the succeeding sheet.
