Abstract

478,092. Forced-flow steam boilers. SOC. ANON. J. COCKERILL. Feb. 11, 1937, No. 4105. Convention date, April 30, 1936. [Class 123 (ii)] In a forced-flow boiler, a number of vaporizing tubes 8 bent in a sinuous form with their straight parts brought together are arranged along the metal walls of a combustion chamber. Further vaporizing tubes 9 are arranged horizontally in the path of the gases above the sinuous tubes, and superheating tubes 12 are arranged above the vaporizing tubes. The gases pass through apertures 14 in the walls of the combustion chamber and flow downwards through casings containing feed heating coils 3. The steam from the vaporizing tubes discharges into the upper part of the water reservoir from which the feed is drawn.
