Abstract

[Class 64 (i)] In a washing or like boiler with an outer casing A round the par B to form a heating space 5 from which leads an exhaust vent 4 with its entrance en. tirely below the top of the boiler, steam passes from the pan over its top edge, through a passage 7 formed by a raised portion 6 of the top of the boiler, the height of the upper edge of the pan being maintained all round, and a deflector 8 in the space 5 leads steam to the exhaust vent without mixing with flue gas. The steam may pass through an opening in the pan wall near its upper edge into a duct leading to the exhaust. A loose tray D forming a flat top may be supported above the boiler, which has a hinged lid. An area may be cut out of the tray to accommodate the protuberance 6, which may then be level with the top of the tray.
