[Class 126] In a frying-range, the fumes and steam from a pan a are drawn off down a passageway c or ways between the rear of the pan and the rear wall of the range, and are conducted down to a suction flue g running longitudinally beneath the range and the hot gases from the firebox i or burner are led down to a suction flue k parallel to but divided from the flue g. The flues g, k merge into one another at a distance from the firebox or burner sufficient to avoid backfiring. In the form shown, two pans are provided, and the range is of the kind not placed against a wall. Above the pans a is a semicircular cover d with a rear opening controlled by a door e, and a curved inner plate f with openings f<1>, which may be covered by gauze, for the passage of fumes and steam to the passageways c. The flues j leading from the spaces h above the fireboxes i are controlled by dampers, which may be automatically opened and closed when the suction fan is started and stopped. A fan-operated blower m may be provided for each firebox.
