Abstract

477,681. Fuel-injection pumps. ARMSTRONG, J. J. V. (Bosch Akt.-Ges., R.) July 22, 1937, No. 20293. [Class 102 (i)] Two fuel-feed pumps 4 draw fuel from a tank 3 fitted with a pivoted,pipe 3a through pipes fitted with valves B and a hand pump Hand deliver to an air separator 6. A pipe 7 connects the air separator to the fuel-injection pump 1 and the separated air passes through a throttle 10a and pipe 10 to a chamber 9a. The overflow of the pump suction chamber takes place through a restricted pipe 8 and a spring-loaded valve 12 into chamber 9a. An adjustable spring-loaded valve 15 connects chamber 9a to the tank 3.
