[Class 102 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] A force-feed lubricating-can comprises a pump cylinder C receiving a spring-controlled plunger A and having at one end an oil inlet suction valve C<1> protected by a filter F. On the down stroke the plunger engages and forces inwardly the rounded stem V<3> of a spring- controlled valve V disposed in a thimble T communicating with an opening in the wall of the cylinder, allowing oil to be forced into the spout N. A cross-bar D may be provided to restrict the stroke of the plunger.
