Abstract

497,265. Lubricating-pumps. BLADON, W. E. June 14, 1937, No. 16411. [Class 102 (i)] A device, which is primarily intended as a lubricating-can, comprises a container 5, with a cap 6 carrying a tube 10 which communicates with a spout 8. The tube 10 is flanged to form the seating 15 of a discharge valve 16, and is integral with, or attached to, a pump barrel 12. The piston 13 has a flange 18, forming the seating of a valve 19, which is acted on by a spring 20 bearing on a flange 21, which also forms the abutment of the return spring 23. Alternatively the return spring may be outside the pump barrel. The piston has notches 27 to receive the ends 26 of a stirrup 25, which is connected to an operating lever 14, either directly, or through a rod 24 as shown. The latter passes through the lever 14 and engages a slot in a member 29 through which the stirrup passes. The lever 14 may be loosely fulcrummed in a slot in a lug 34. The cap 6 may carry a handle 35.
