Abstract

429,729. Reciprocating pumps. DOWLING, D. R., Oxley Road, Graceville, near Brisbane, Australia. Sept. 22, 1934, No. 27246. Convention date, Nov. 13, 1933. [Class 102 (i)] A reservoir drenching-gun, applicable also for injection or douching, comprises a pair of telescoping tubes A, B, enclosing a spring C and carrying respectively a liquid supply tube G and a nozzle F, the parts F, G, containing non-return valves L, M. The tube A has clamped thereto a handle D and the tube B carries a trigger or finger-piece E ; a spring S may be provided between these parts. A nut H holding packing is screwed over the tube A and a grease cup J is provided for lubricating the working surfaces between the tubes. Regulation of dose is effected by a graduated rod P held by a lug O and passing freely through a lug N on tube A, the rod carrying a nut Q and a lock-nut Q<1> whereby the maximum separation of the tubes in use can be adjusted. A set-screw R is provided on handle D to permit setting of the collapsed position of the tubes to the zero of the scale on rod P.
